Cris Macht, What Does Star Wars Mean To You?
This week, Chris Macht (filmmaker) joins us to share what Star Wars means to him! We his acclaimed documentaries The Force Among Us and The Force Within Us and explore the deep, personal connections that bind generations of Star Wars fans. We also chat collecting Vintage Star Wars toys, the best 9 Star Wars characters to field a baseball team, the community of Star Wars, the evolution of conventions and Star Wars Celebrations, the emotional power of Andor, Rogue One and the impact of John Williams’ music and how all of that shaped his identity, mirrored his life experiences and inspired Chris to preserve fan culture through storytelling.
A graduate from Columbia College, Cris started his entertainment career in the Music Business as a talent buyer and production manager. When not making independent film documentaries he works in television production. He has had the opportunity to work for the NHL during the Stanley Cup as well as the MLB Network during the 2016 world series and both Field Of Dream Games (to name a few). He has also appeared on the WGN Morning News several times. Cris has also been in the entertainment promotion business with a focus on street team distribution. His 1st 2 documentaries focus on his passion and love of Star Wars. He also has a deep love and for music and baseball.
